Part-Time Grounds Technician

Primary Purpose: The Part-Time Grounds Technician is primarily responsible for assisting with maintaining the excellent appearance of the grounds on the Greenwood Campus.

Essential Functions:

• Maintains the campus grounds and makes any necessary corrections to keep it neat, attractive and presentable
• Assists with lawn care duties including, but not limited to grass cutting, trimming shrubs, pruning trees, clearing the cemetery, and managing the area round the pond
• Ensures lawn care equipment is in good work condition and communicates to maintenance on needed repairs
• Helps with emergencies and additional activities across campus
• Ensure the completion of task that students do not have time to finish
• Support Connie Maxwell goals
• Works toward achieving yearly "Gold Star" list
• Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Basic knowledge in basic mechanics, carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and grounds keeping
• Skills in the safe use of tools and equipment to carry out duties
• Valid driver's license and insurability is required
• Strong communication skills

Work Conditions:

• Involves walking and standing for extended periods of time
• Involves strenuous physical labor for long hours, in extreme heat and cold temperatures
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors
• Ability to lift and move over 50 pounds on a continual basis
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends based on ministry needs
• Ability to work under stress during peak workload periods
