Responsibilities:
Job Summary: The Phlebotomist conducts specimen collection and processing with an emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, completeness, safety, and compliance while maintaining a professional image and adhering to our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
- Follow proper specimen identification procedures during specimen collection and labeling.
- Collects, prepares, processes, stores and/or transports specimens using correct techniques and anticoagulants.
- Receive incoming phone calls, documents and follow through on incoming requests.
- Investigate, document, and resolve specimen issues to ensure timely and accurate reporting of results.
- Performs housekeeping tasks involved in maintaining the laboratory in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
- Train new students, staff and document proficiency as directed.
- Effectively use computer options relevant to job duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- HS diploma or GED from an accredited school required.
- Phlebotomy Certificate preferred
