Summary of Duties:
The Production Control Manager manages the organization's planning, scheduling, forecasting, and production dispatch activities to ensure customer commitments are met.
Job Duties Include:
- Manges the Production Control department in line with customer needs.
- Work with Sales, Material Management, and Operations to ensure information flow, material flow, and manpower/machine capacity is adequate to support customer needs.
- Responsible for production schedules with Operations in line with customer needs.
- Correspond with upper management when projects are forecasted to be late, and work to address issues through root-cause corrective action.
- Correspond with all departments regarding project needs (as needed.)
- Responsible for ensuring raw materials and related components are available to meet production requirements.
- Relay lead times to customers.
- Review manufacturing plans and communicate with Sales and Supply chain when plans are not correct (as needed.)
- Responsible for the direction of outside services and ensuring that timing requirements are met.
- Review and update production schedule as necessary to meet customer needs.
- Handle special projects as required.
- Conducts necessary research on customer-related issues and reports findings within the department and plant management.
- Develop and implement new approaches to improve efficiency in the production control activities.
- Provide comprehensive reports on plated or fabricated parts on-hand or deliveries as per customers' request.
- Plan and/or attend scheduling meetings with other departments, and/or customers as necessary to meet/establish scheduling needs.
- Work with production and quality staff to assist with the flow of non-conforming materials, such as scheduling rework and recording scrap.
- Responsible for the entering of Purchase Orders through all platforms utilized in the Order Entry Process.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in a related Manufacturing environment.
- Action and detail oriented.
- Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Preferably Sage, Syteline, Visual, or Oracle ERP systems.
- Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Prior experience with inventory controls and production planning.
