- Completion of an accredited Radiology Technologist programÂ
- Completion of Medical Assistant Training ProgramÂ
- One year experience preferred but will work with new graduatesÂ
- SCRQSA certificationÂ
- Certified by the American Associations of Medical Assistants or willing to obtain certification through an employee sponsored program Â
- Able to read, write and communicate effectively orally and in writingÂ
- Able to calculate medication dosages correctlyÂ
- Proficient in use of computer and keyboardÂ
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationshipsÂ
- Knowledge of HIPAA and ability to maintain confidentialityÂ
- Able to manage self and environment calmly and appropriately in stressful situationsÂ
- Clinical skills (basic): taking vital signs, patient assessments, injections, appropriate and complete documentationÂ
- Clinical Skills (advanced): Phlebotomy, IV, EKG, catheterizations as examplesÂ
- Stand for extended periods of timeÂ
- Able to push, pull, reach, sit, stoop, and stretchÂ
- Have full range of body motionÂ
- Have the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity needed to operate a computer, telephone, copier, and medical equipment - Able to lift and position patients using appropriate body mechanicsÂ
- Have a normal range of hearing and eyesight to be able to collect data and record where appropriate (i.e. computer and/or paper) - Vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusÂ
This position involves exposure to customer/patient elements. The work environment is that of a medical practice that enforces safe OSHA compliant practice. HIPAA rules and regulations are stringently enforced. The position requires staff to work under pressure at times and with a diverse population. As a medical office, exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, sharps, and other conditions are common. Â
This job also operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard Office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.Â
