Job Summary
The Revenue Accountant is responsible for managing all revenue recognition and recording processes within the organization. This role involves the daily oversight of revenue-related transactions, ensuring that all entries are accurately recorded and comply with relevant accounting standards (such as GAAP, IFRS, and ASC 606). By safeguarding the financial integrity of revenue streams, the Revenue Accountant plays a crucial part in supporting timely financial reporting, audit preparation, and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Monitoring & Recording:
- Review revenue transactions and ensure that revenue entries are accurate and complete.
- Monitor the revenue stream, reviewing invoices, and contract revenue details.
- Identify and analyze revenue related issues and recommend solutions.
- Revenue Recognition & Compliance:
- Apply best-practice revenue recognition policies in line with established standards (US GAAP ASC 606).
- Ensure that revenue transactions are in compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Reconciliation & Reporting:
- Reconcile revenue reports to the general ledger on a regular basis.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports, highlighting any discrepancies or variances.
- Develop detailed schedules and supporting documentation for manual journal entries and financial statements.
- Data Analysis & Process Improvement:
- Analyze revenue trends, perform variance analysis, and provide insights to optimize revenue collection.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Β Credit and Collections, Legal) to improve documentation and revenue-related processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance system controls and increase overall efficiency in revenue processing.
- Audit & Documentation Support:
- Assist internal and external auditors by providing clear documentation of revenue transactions and reconciliations.
- Maintain comprehensive records to support audit trails and periodic reviews.
- Participate in the Contracts Management team to ensure all customer contracts are maintained in the contract lifecycle management tool and that all financial performance obligations are identified for proper administration.

Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in accounting.
- Bachelorβs degree in accounting required, MBA, MAcc/MSA a plus
- CPA or CPA candidate a plus
- Strong knowledge of accounting and finance skills
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Knowledge of JSOX controlsΓ’ΒΒ―is a plus
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, codes and regulations
- Expert skills with Microsoft Office (Excel formulas and pivot tables a plus)
- Oracle and Hyperion Financial Management / OneStream working knowledge is a plus Must be a fast learner of Accounting/Reporting Systems.
