Join Our Client's Team as the Senior Projects Engineer
GovFirst's client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Projects Engineer to manage the planning, design, and construction of public infrastructure projects, specifically focusing on roads, pathways, and road rights-of-way. This is a key role for someone looking to make a direct impact on community development and transportation infrastructure.
What You Will Do
- Design and manage the planning, design, permitting, and construction of Town transportation projects.
- Prepare requests for proposals and qualifications, scopes of work, and cost estimates.
- Prepare engineering analyses, technical reports, data sets, inventories, cost estimates, and maintenance logs.
- Manage transportation survey data, ACAD files, and CADD standards and protocols for surveying and design of Town projects.
- Manage on-call contracts for professional services and maintenance/construction services.
- Oversee the construction of transportation capital and maintenance projects.
- Manage transportation-related programs, including dirt road acquisition and paving.
- Oversee and manage the Dirt Road Program.
- Develop, manage, and maintain the Pathway Asset Management program.
- Coordinate with utility companies on Town and utility projects to mitigate potential conflicts, evaluate design options, minimize impacts, and reduce costs.
- Assist in the acquisition of land, easements, and rights of way, defining limits, ordering plats, and working with the Town Attorneyβs office and property owners.
Requirements
Required Education:
- Bachelorβs degree in civil/transportation engineering or a closely related field.
Required Work Authorization:
- Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
Required Certifications:
- South Carolina Professional Engineering License and/or Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector (SCDES) Certification.
- If not currently held, must be able to obtain either certification within six months from the date of hire.
- Valid driver's license.
Required Skills:
- A minimum of eight years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in civil or transportation engineering.
- Proven expertise in project management, specifically in transportation infrastructure and construction.
- Proficiency in ACAD, CADD, and survey data management for infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of transportation design, maintenance, and construction practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage contracts, interact with contractors, and engage stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of South Carolina transportation regulations and engineering standards.
- Experience with land acquisition, easement negotiation, and working with legal teams.
