Minimum Qualifications:
SC certification in MD, EMD, TMD or Multi-Categorical, or Severe required with a strong GPA
in relevant course work
Experience with teaching special education students in a self-contained setting preferred
Ability to fulfill the dexterity and physical requirements of the work, and effectively attend
to special needs of exceptional children
Enthusiasm for teaching students with disabilities
Exceptional knowledge of the needs of special education primary and elementary students
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of effective and innovative instructional strategies and student evaluation techniques
Skill in interpersonal relations with pupils, parents, teachers, staff and the general public
Outstanding references from current and former supervisors
Satisfactory SLED (SC Law Enforcement Division) report
Salary Range: Teacher Salary Schedule
Length of Contract: 190 days
Starting Date: 2024 - 2025 School Year
