The selected candidate will work in the Advanced Engineering Division at Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL). The field of focus for this position would be structural analysis and code qualification of systems, components, and structures. Seeking experienced structural engineers that are creative, flexible, and self-motivated who can work on multidisciplinary teams and develop one-of-a-kind engineering solutions in a safe and responsible manner.Β
Candidates are also expected to deliver results in a timely and cost-effective manner, accepts challenging tasks and receive minimal guidance and direction from senior professionals.
Responsibilities
- Experience using ANSYS for modeling and analysis is preferred. Β
- Knowledgeable and experienced in the use of ASME B&PVC Section VIII, Division 2 and 3 and ASME B31.3 codes, including high temperature thermal fatigue creep analysis. Β
- Advanced Finite Element Analysis experience including beyond linear-elastic analysis. Β
- Ability to author qualification reports proving code compliance for systems, structures and components.Β
- Experience in the design and qualification of steel structures in accordance with AISC 360 is a plus. Β
- Knowledge of ASCE Seismic Design Criteria is a plus. Β
- Familiarity with weld configurations based on AWS D1.1 and D1.6 codes.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelorβs Degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering and 7+ years of relevant experience or a Masterβs Degree and 6+ Β years of relevant experience.
- For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is LegallyΒ Required
