We are currently seeking a System Administrator to support operations in Charleston. This is a full-time, CONUS position requiring an active DoD Top Secret clearance. Â
This position may be subject to the Service Contract Labor Standards Act (SCLS)/Service Contract Act (SCA).Â
What You’ll DoÂ
Install and maintain IT systems, including hardware, software, network accounts, operating system upgrades, and local web interfaces. Ensure proper documentation of system configurations and support local system design initiatives.Â
Administer and support cybersecurity tools, including the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security technologies to protect network integrity.Â
Provide user support and training, assisting staff with IT-related issues, software usage, and system navigation. Deliver technical instruction tailored to user roles and responsibilities to improve productivity and system understanding.Â
Perform Windows operating system support, including installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting of both desktop and server environments to maintain system stability and security.Â
Utilize Active Directory for account management, including user login assistance, password resets, group membership changes, and general administration of user accounts and permissions.Â
Support basic networking functions, with a working knowledge of IP addressing, DNS, and how network-related issues affect virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and user connectivity.Â
Troubleshoot technical issues using diagnostic tools such as log files, event history, and version tracking systems to identify root causes and apply effective resolutions.Â
Manage software patching and updates, applying security patches and performance fixes to reduce vulnerabilities and ensure systems remain compliant with organizational and security policies.Â
Oversee end-user device management, including configuration, deployment, and support of workstations, laptops, mobile devices, and peripheral hardware to ensure seamless user operations.Â
What You’ll BringÂ
Required Qualifications:Â
Education & Experience:Â Â
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems or higherÂ
Minimum seven (7) years experience with Master’s or 11 years with Bachelor’s degree of professional experience in systems administration to include supporting daily operational requirements of computer network systems including workstation, file servers, and web serversÂ
Technical Expertise:Â Â
Experience installing and maintaining hardware, software, operating systems (including Windows OS), and performing system upgrades and patch management.Â
Proficient in basic networking concepts (e.g., IP addressing, DNS) and their impact on system performance and virtual desktop environments.Â
Familiarity with Active Directory functions, including user account management and password resets.Â
Skilled in deploying and managing cybersecurity tools such as firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).Â
Strong troubleshooting abilities using log files, event history, and version control to resolve system and network issues.Â
Capable of providing end-user support and training, including technical assistance and guidance on software and system usage.Â
Knowledge of end-user device management, including setup, configuration, and support of desktops, laptops, and peripherals.Â
Certifications:Â
Must have a current and active DoD Top Secret security clearance.Â
Cybersecurity workforce certification/training in accordance with DoD 8570.1M and subsequent DoD 8140 manual, as applicable. (i.e. CompTIA A+ CE, Network+ CE, Security+ CE, CISSP, and GSEC)Â
Proficient with modern IT tools and infrastructure technologiesÂ
Travel & PassportÂ
Up to 3 or 4 weeklong trips per year. CONUS Travel. Â
Work EnvironmentÂ
Compliance with vaccination and medical requirements for TDY/OCONUS roles as per Vaccine Recommendations by AOR | Health.mil.Â
Office setting:Â
Primarily an office-based role in Charleston, SCÂ
Standard desk/computer work with flexibility for walking and movement on siteÂ
Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.Â
Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.Â
May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.  Â
