What Are We Looking For?

NHUC is currently looking for a is currently looking for an x-ray technologist or technicians to join our team who will operate x-ray equipment and produce x-ray images to aid providers with diagnosing and/or treating diseases or injuries. The technologist will also help with triaging and rooming patients including taking vitals, reviewing patient history, and summarizing the reason forΒ visit.

Key Responsibilities
Β
- Responsible for center cleanliness and positive customer service.
- Prepares patients for radiological procedures.Β Protects patient, self, and other staff from radiation hazards.Β Takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety, which involves setting up and operating radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and / or treatment of patients and includes implementing infection control procedures for the work area.Β Selects proper ionizing factors for radiological diagnosis.Β Adjusts / sets radiographic controls.Β Positions patients and takes x-rays of specific parts of the patientβs body as requested by physicians. Processes film. Checks x-rays for clarity of image, retaking when needed. Distributes x-rays to appropriate medical staff.
- Maintains required records including patient records, daily logbooks, and monthly reports.Β Performs quantity and quality control checks to assure x-ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies.Β Complies with safety standards.
- Cleans, maintains, and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining equipment repairs.
- Answers incoming calls and schedules appointments as needed.
- Calls patients to relay physician messages and outcome to diagnostic test or lab results.
- Informs provider of any abnormal labs / tests.
- Cleans exam room(s), instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control.
- Communicates with the front staff on patient flow and wait times.
- Recognizes patient distress and takes appropriate actions.
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to Federal guidelines and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.

A good candidate will bring with them:

- 1-year degree in Radiographic technology
- Current SC license for radiographic technology
- Limited Practice Radiographer-General Certification accepted
- Healthcare Provider CPR certification
- Trained in OSHA/HIPAA compliance
- Willing to workΒ 12 hourΒ shifts and weekends
- Willing to work at other centers as needed
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to reflect our mission, vision, and values through actions and conduct.

- Full practice radiographer certification
