Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality instruction in utility lineman techniques, safety protocols, equipment usage, and industry best practices.
  • Develop and maintain course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, assessments, and instructional handouts.
  • Conduct hands-on training in pole climbing, equipment operation, and rigging techniques.
  • Teach electrical systems, overhead and underground distribution, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA safety standards and industry regulations during instruction.
  • Assess student learning through assignments, practical exams, and evaluations.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to students to support their academic and career goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and grades.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in utility lineman practices.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum and Additional Requirements

  • Journeyman Lineman certification or equivalent experience in the utility industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of field experience as a utility lineman.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and instructional skills.
  • Ability to conduct hands-on training in outdoor and lab environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior teaching or training experience in a technical education setting.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with both overhead and underground systems.
  • Familiarity with instructional technology and learning management systems (LMS).
