TITLE: Adult Education Registrar (Part-Time)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum high school diploma
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in computer literacy and typing skills
- Ability to multi-task and interact positively with students, faculty and staff, parents, and the general public
- Maintains confidentiality relating to students and personnel
REPORTS TO:Β Executive Director of Non-Traditional Programs
JOB GOAL: To assist in providing a pleasant atmosphere through well organized environment and maintain accurate, up-to-date student and school records which will provide the Executive Director with information on which to make sound, management based decisions
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages the Walk-In WorkKeys/WIN Program by: registering and assigning students to class roster and/or testing seats; distributing results/certificates and conferences for test re-takes, as needed.
- Assists in the student intake process by: Registering new and returning students; Collecting class fees, GED voucher fees, test registration fees, book fees, etc.; Distributes mail; Requesting transcripts, attendance, discipline, test scores, and special education records as appropriate for students entering the program; Scheduling conferences with Adult Education Executive Director and 17 year old students and parents/guardians; Creating folders, rosters and scheduling students for orientation.
- Maintains testing schedules and ticket creation
- Assists the Director in developing and implementing marketing strategies for the program.
- Maintains the school website and electronic sign.
- Assists in the student transition process by: Assisting students with GED Ready vouchers and the testing process; Assisting students in GED Test registration, confirmation of test date, and follow-up results; Preparing correspondence, reports and student attendance information for agencies and/or colleges, as needed.
- Serves as receptionist for the program by: Greeting visitors and potential students in a positive manner in person or on the phone; Checking students and visitors in and out (door buzzer system); Directing phone calls to the appropriate staff; Answering various questions for new or potential students for the GED, HSD, ESL, WorkKeys, WIN, Literacy, and Community Resources; Notifying teachers of student call-ins for absence; Assisting student, staff and the public with questions about Adult Education; Performing general clerical work, as needed.
- Uses other state and district software applications, ie. Google, Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Access) and LACES
- Serves as a Proctor for computer-based testing at the main site.
- Ensures that all testing laws, regulations, policies, and procedures are followed.
- Performs standard office operations such as typing and copying.
- Participates in staff development programs.
- Other duties as assigned and deemed necessary by the Executive Director.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-time; 12 hrs./wk.; $20/hr.
