Position Type: Part-Time / As-Needed (Substitute)


Job Summary:
The As-Needed Kitchen Support Staff member provides substitute coverage for cafeteria staff as needed. This position supports daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, meal service, and maintaining a clean and safe food service environment. Individuals must be flexible and available to work on short notice when coverage is required. Training will be provided prior to assignment.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with basic food preparation and meal setup
  • Serve meals to students and staff in a courteous and efficient manner
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, serving areas, and equipment
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Support kitchen staff with daily operational tasks as assigned
  • Demonstrate positive and professional interactions with students, staff, and visitors
  • Perform other related duties as needed to support cafeteria operations



Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to follow directions and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable and able to respond to as-needed work requests



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous kitchen, food service, or cafeteria experience

  • Required to complete initial training prior to being scheduled
  • Hours are not guaranteed and will vary based on staffing needs
