QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a college or university program in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, digital media, graphic design, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with social media, photography, videography, digital content creation, communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related area is preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to create and edit photography, short-form video, graphics, social media posts, and other digital content.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with schools, departments, students, employees, families, and community members.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to travel among district locations and maintain a valid driver's license and evidence of insurability.
- Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including occasional evening activities.

JOB GOAL:Β To support the Anderson School District Five Office of Communications by helping maintain an active and engaging district social media presence; capturing and developing photography and video content from schools, programs, and district events; creating digital and written communications; and promoting the students, employees, programs, activities, and accomplishments of Anderson School District Five.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages the district's day-to-day social media presence in coordination with the Director of Communications, including identifying content opportunities; developing, writing, scheduling, and publishing posts; and monitoring district social media platforms.
- Regularly visits district schools, classrooms, programs, and events to capture high-quality photography and video content highlighting students, employees, programs, activities, and accomplishments.
- Independently identifies and develops engaging content opportunities that support district communication priorities and reflect the district's brand, voice, and standards.
- Creates and edits digital content, including photography, short-form video, graphics, social media posts, and other multimedia materials for district communication platforms.
- Maintains an organized file of district photographs, videos, and other digital assets for use across communication platforms.
- Assists with maintaining and updating district website content to ensure information is timely, accurate, and engaging.
- Works collaboratively with schools and departments to gather information, identify story opportunities, and promote school and district programs, events, achievements, and recognitions.
- Assists the Director of Communications with written communications, including news stories, press releases, website content, social media content, and other district publications.
- Assists with the design and production of district graphics, publications, promotional materials, programs, presentations, and other visual communications.
- Attends and provides communications coverage for district and school events, including occasional evening activities as needed.
- Monitors emerging social media trends, platforms, tools, and best practices and identifies opportunities appropriate for district use.
- Ensures content and communication activities align with district policies, communication standards, brand guidelines, goals, and objectives.
- Participates in meetings, planning sessions, and other activities as needed to support the work of the Office of Communications.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Communications.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Β Temporary, part-time internship anticipated to continue through January 2027, with the exact end date to be determined based on district needs / no more than 25 hours weekly / $20 hourly. The work schedule will vary based on district communication needs, school activities, and events. Flexibility is required because some days may require more time than others. Occasional evening hours may be required for event coverage. The weekly schedule will be coordinated with the Director of Communications and will not exceed 25 hours per week unless otherwise authorized by the district.
