QUALIFICATIONS: Β Β
Bachelorβs degree in Special Education required; Masterβs degree preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience as a special education teacher (preferred)
Administrative certification and leadership experience (preferred)
Knowledge of current laws, policies, and procedures related toΒ Multilingual Learners, 504 Plans, and IDEA Special Education services
Strong work ethic and commitment to student success
Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships across diverse populations and the broader community

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Β
Under limited direction, provides leadership in planning, developing, and implementing special education and related services to ensure the district meets the diverse needs of students.

Conducts duties in an office environment with no significant exposure to environmental conditions.Β Requires ability to work under a degree of stress related to duties that required constant attention, and meeting deadlines.Β Physical demands are restricted to office work requiring lifting/moving of items up to 25 pounds. Β Job requires the operation of standard office equipment.Β Nature of job requires frequent use of computer and monitors for long durations.
