Description

Under the supervision of the Coordinator for Circle of Friends, The Outpatient Program for Infants and Children, this position provides clinical services to children and families at Serenity Village.Β  Some limited supervisory responsibilities due to providing leadership for Circle of Friends in the absence of the coordinator.Β  This position is Β primarily clinical.Β  Position may require evening and/or weekend working hours as necessary.Β

Involves activities that require ability to lift 30 lbs., reaching, climbing and grasping.Β  Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.Β  Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.Β  Visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work and observing surroundings and activities.Β  The worker is not subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

JOB DUTIES

  • Assists Coordinator in Developing and implementing Β therapeutic programming to address treatment of behavioral health concerns in children under the age of seven as they relate to a parent’s substance use disorder.
  • Assists Coordinator in Developing and implementing Β therapeutic programming to address parenting education, parent-child bonding, family unit support and family member education for all children participating in the Program for Infants and Children.
  • Assists in development and implementation of activities to support CARF accreditation process.
  • Provides direct services to children and families through initial screening, assessment, treatment planning, family support services, Skills building services and substance abuse counseling sessions as needed.Β  Services provided and documented in accordance with regulatory requirements in Carelogic.
  • Completes continued stay authorizations as needed by the billing department.Β Β Β 
  • Facilitates the Nurturing Parenting curriculum with the residential clients.Β  Β Β 
  • Maintains along with the Program Coordinator documentation connected to yearly Strategic goals information. Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β 
  • Participates as needed in case consultations, staffing, and treatment team meetings.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of principles of early childhood development
  • Knowledge of intervention strategies in working with infants and children with developmental/behavioral concerns
  • Demonstrated knowledge of substance use disorders and treatment modalities that are child and family focused
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written expression
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office products and other standard electronic software programs
