Crane & Hoist Service Technician

CERTEX USA is seeking an experienced and dynamic Crane & Hoist Service Technician to lead our team, oversee daily operations, and drive business growth in our Charleston, SC location. 

Position Overview

Looking for a Service Technician to provide quality installations, inspections, maintenance and repairs of overhead hoist and crane systems. Breakdowns will require troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components and circuits.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Duties

• Troubleshoot and repair overhead cranes – Industrial Maintenance, Machine Repair, Industrial Electrician.

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment (extensive knowledge of motor controls – 480 volt 3 phase, 120V 

controls, contactor controls and variable frequency drives).

• Breakdown calls (ability to troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical issues)

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment.

• Support customers by effectively interfacing with customer in repairing equipment as needed.

• Evaluate and make recommendations regarding required repairs.

• Provide a high level of communication with both Customer and Crane Manager.

Required Skills/Abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Five years’ work experience with Industrial Equipment, Overhead Cranes a positive

• Troubleshooting experience with 3 phase motor control systems.

• Clean driving record.

• OSHA 10

Other Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required for Level I. 

• Six months of experience in warehouse operations or manufacturing.

• Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required for Level I. 

• Six months of experience in warehouse operations or manufacturing.

• Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements.

Working Conditions, Hours, Travel

• Work various environments and working conditions depending on assignment.

• Occasional overtime required.

• Working at heights & some heavy lifting.

• Operating forklifts, personnel lifts.

• Working from various heights.

• Walking, sitting, standing, bending, climbing, crawling, driving, reading, seeing, hearing, speaking, concentrating, 

communicating.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent 

bending and stooping.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time and 75 pounds max with assistance.

• Must have good hand/eye coordination.

• Acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect products/tags/labels.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Pay Range - $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
