Job Responsibilities

This position reports directly to the Department Head. Serves as lead instructor for the programs assigned. The primary responsibilities of the program coordinator are to teach courses by providing systematically planned and delivered instruction; to design and develop curriculum; evaluate student performance; and advise students.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Candidate must possess a minimum of an associate degree in culinary, baking and pastry or related field. Β The preferred candidate will have a bachelor's or master's degree in a related field plus teaching experience in a secondary or post-secondary culinary arts program. Β  Β 

Preferred Qualifications


Ideal candidates will have:

  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a secondary or post-secondary culinary arts program
  • At least 3 years of culinary experience as a sous chef or chef
  • Current ServSafe Manager Certification and/or ACF Certified Chef de Cuisine (or higher) credential
  • Experience working in environments with continually evolving information technology
  • Preferred: Experience in curriculum development
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends at various college and community sites
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness, innovation, and problem-solving skills
  • Shows initiative, sound judgment, and ability to work independently
  • Applies strong customer service standards and procedures
