Position SummaryÂ
The Director of Marketing and Development is responsible for the improvement of Oliver Gospel’s brand awareness, marketing and fundraising strategy, and ensuring that Oliver Gospel has the necessary funding to function. This includes the creation and implementation of a comprehensive marketing and fundraising plan, the development of a highly efficient and effective team, personal involvement in solicitation of donations, and oversight of all donor and marketing outreach and communications. The Director of Marketing and Development not only leads the Development team in their contribution to the organization, but also leads the Organization in its compliance with and contribution to the plan. Effectively managing up and across the organization with expert communication is crucial. Â

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and education in non-profit management, communications, fundraising, business or a related fieldÂ
Ability to create and administer a comprehensive marketing and fundraising planÂ
Experience in staff development and supervisionÂ
Energy, enthusiasm and a flair to work hard to achieve ambitious targetsÂ
Ability to work independently while staying aligned with the priorities of the supervisorÂ
Knowledge of PC-based software, donor database and relevant applications and office equipmentÂ

Position ResponsibilitiesÂ
Oversee the Development Team; work closely with the Executive Director to meet target goalsÂ
Oversee the annual marketing and fundraising strategy implemented by the development teamÂ
Create and maintain an updated list of development processes and procedures by team roleÂ
Ensure that development tools are being used efficiently and collecting accurate donor and financial dataÂ
Implement efficient strategies for promoting and raising financial and material resourcesÂ
Oversee the identification and cultivation of new prospective donorsÂ
Pursue gifts-in-kind donations from existing and new donors, business partners, and other resourcesÂ
Collaborate with the Business Team in collecting and reporting relevant gifts-in-kind dataÂ
Facilitate annual direct mail (acquisition and cultivation) with third party direct mail companyÂ
Create an overall fundraising plan that details long-range fundraising plansÂ
Oversee an annual individual giving plan which includes recruitment and development of new donorsÂ
Solicit sponsorships, donations, corporate matching gifts and charitable bequestsÂ
Assign public appearances and speaking engagements to responsible parties to promote OGÂ
Oversee the planning and execution of Oliver Gospel events Â
