Position Title:Β Director of Ticket Sales – The Gamecock Club
Location:Β Columbia, South Carolina
Reports To:Β Vice President of Revenue – The Gamecock Club
Employment Type:Β Full-Time, Exempt

Position Summary

The Director of Ticket Sales is responsible for developing, leading, and executing comprehensive ticket sales strategies to maximize revenue, grow the fan base, and enhance the game-day experience for University of South Carolina Athletics. This role will oversee the sales team, manage general ticket sales efforts, and collaborate closely with The Gamecock Club leadership to align sales initiatives with the organization’s mission of supporting Gamecock student-athletes through scholarship funding.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and implement annual ticket sales plans for football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, and other ticketed events.
  • Lead a team of account executives and sales representatives to achieve and exceed individual and departmental revenue goals.
  • Establish performance metrics and monitor progress using data-driven analysis.
  • Identify and cultivate new sales opportunities, including season tickets, group sales, premium seating, and single-game packages.

Team Management & Development

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate ticket sales staff, fostering a culture of accountability, motivation, and professional growth.
  • Provide regular coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to maximize individual and team performance.

Collaboration & Partnerships

  • Work in close coordination with The Gamecock Club, marketing, ticket operations, and external relations to create integrated campaigns that drive ticket sales.
  • Partner with corporate sponsorship and community relations teams to develop bundled packages and promotional events.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Oversee the implementation and use of CRM systems (Salesforce & Ticketmaster Archtics) to track customer engagement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with season ticket holders, donors, and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure an exceptional customer service experience that reflects the pride and tradition of Gamecock Athletics.

Reporting

  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sports management, business, marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in ticket sales within collegiate or professional sports, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, ticketing platforms, and data analysis.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Ticketmaster, & Fevo or similar ticketing software.
  • Familiarity with the South Carolina market and collegiate athletics fundraising structures.
