Fitness Specialist, Charleston, SC

FOX is seeking a top caliber Fitness Specialist to join our growing team in the Charleston, SC area between 3 of our senior living communities. Start your career today and join our fight to abolish ageism. 

This position is new, so there is no set schedule yet, but starting at about 2-3 hours a week.
LOTS of room to grow!

Preferred availability would be M-F / between 10a-2p.

1:1s and small groups

Founded in 1998, FOX was the FIRST private practice in the country to provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an in-home setting for the older adult population. Helping patients restore the quality of life they deserve and desire, our focus is the rehabilitation of lives delivered through evidence-based therapy with innovative and proactive treatment.  

The Fitness Specialist opportunity entails the following: 

• Patient continuity: Patients are prescribed exercise programs to maintain functional levels after discharge from rehabilitation services.  

• Excellent support system: Fox provides significant support for our Fitness Specialists through leadership, clinical education, and an assigned Program Manager.

Requirements: 

• Must have one of the following: ​​​​Bachelors in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or Exercise Physiology; Certified Personal Trainer through a nationally recognized and accredited organization preferred (i.e., ACSM, NSCA, NASM, ACE, ISSA); or prior experience as a fitness trainer, with willingness to become a Certified Personal Trainer 

• Routine travel to patient residences and between Senior Living Communities. 

• Expand territory as needed. 

• Travel as needed per practice requirements. 

• CPR Certification 

• Previous experience working with older adults in a proactive and wellness setting preferred.  

• Basic computer skills. 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
