Duties And Responsibilities
Program Support and Development - Assist director with program recruitment and information sessions (virtual information sessions for new LEAP admits, Winthrop Day) - Assist director with planning and implementation of pre-semester programming (Early Launch) - Assist director with collecting, evaluating, and reporting data related to programmatic outcomes Tutor and Mentor Support - Assist with recruitment, selection, and assignment of peer tutors and mentors as needed - Help plan and facilitate tutor/mentor staff meetings and other tutor/mentor development opportunities - Manage and support the work of mentors (Reed Fellows) - Support director as needed with tutor and mentor training LEAP Student Support - Assist LEAP students in connecting with campus resources as needed (Academic Success Center, Math tutorial center, Writing Center, Center for Wellness, etc). - Meet with LEAP students to assess student needs and connect with student, with tutors, and mentors as appropriate - Provide tutoring as needed in subject areas identified by GA as personal strengths Office Support - Manage program records (study hall attendance, Hope Reed Fellows hourly reporting, fellows mentoring documents, etc.) - Communicate as needed with Office Career Development and Internships to support Reed Fellows service placements - Manage social media accounts for the program General Responsibilities - Must attend LEAP Study Halls, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30-8:30pm - Attend Early Launch (a few days during the week before fall term), Virtual Information Sessions, and Winthrop Day as needed - Maintain regular weekly office hours - Attend staff meetings as needed - Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Acceptance into a Winthrop graduate program as a full time (9 hours/semester) student First preference will be given to students who are LEAP Program alumni Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Excellent written and oral communication skills Professionalism, initiative, creativity, organization, and patience Discretion, especially as it relates to privacy and student confidentiality
