Job Description:

A leasing consultant primary role is to attract and screen potential tenants, provide information about available properties, negotiate lease terms, and ensure a smooth leasing process.

​As a leasing consultant you will be responsible for leasing properties to prospective tenants, ensuring high occupancy rates, and maintaining positive relationships with current residents. Your role involves marketing and promoting available properties, conducting property tours, screening applicants, negotiating lease agreements, and providing excellent customer service. You will work closely with the property manager and other team members to achieve leasing goals and maintain property standards.

The Leasing Consultant primary focus shall include but not limited to:Β 

  • Stay informed about local rental market trends, competitor activities, and industry regulationsΒ 

  • Participate in property marketing events, outreach programs, and promotional activities to maximize property visibilityΒ 

  • Manage all aspects of theβ€―leasingβ€―process, includingβ€―leasing apartments to qualified prospects, preparing lease paperwork and assisting future residents to ensure a smooth move-inΒ 

  • Respond to in-person, phone and email inquiries, provide leasing information, make appointmentsΒ 

  • Assist with completing weekly, monthly and special reportsΒ 

  • Determine resident needs and respond promptly to any resident needs/concernsΒ 

  • Effectively and accurately explain all lease and community policies to new and current residentsΒ 

  • Plan, organize and conduct resident functions as needed and as directed by Property ManagerΒ 

  • Uphold ethical standards, fair housing regulations, and company policies in all leasing activitiesΒ 

  • Work at least one to two weekends in a monthΒ 

QualificationsΒ 

  • Valid Drivers LicenseΒ 

  • 1+ year of sales or leasing experience strongly preferredΒ 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent requiredΒ

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Β 

  • Demonstrate strong negotiating and sales abilitiesΒ 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsΒ 

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking skillsΒ 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and other Microsoft Office productsΒ 

  • Knowledge of Internet, Email, and social media as it pertains to marketing of communityΒ 

  • Knowledge of property management software, such as, Onesite, Yardi, RealPage, Knock, RentCafe, Resman, etc.Β 

  • Knowledge of business practices and principlesΒ 

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasksΒ 

  • Ability to cope with stress in a composed mannerΒ 

  • Ability to respect and maintain confidentialityΒ 

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.Β 

  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Β
