BridgeWorks is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic

1st shift, willing to work overtime and call-in requests when required

This is a DIRECT HIRE Position

Responsible for maintaining the production equipment in the facility. Must possess strong mechanical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems. Strong preference for prior chemical production maintenance.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Performs maintenance activities in a timely manner to ensure continuous operations
  • Performs equipment repairs, routine PM activities, and equipment modifications
  • Understand basic function and operation of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical equipment
  • Understands how to use basic hand tools
  • Understands how to drill and tap various metals
  • Reads and interprets mechanical drawings
  • Understands basic lubrication principles
  • Operates forklifts, aerial lifts, and overhead hoists
  • Possesses fundamental understanding of rigging and lifting equipment
  • Maintains area housekeeping to ensure a safe workplace and follows all safety regulations and policies
  • Interact with leadership to share maintenance concerns or advance knowledge of costly maintenance projects
  • Must be willing to work in all areas of the plant and in various environments (heat, cold, heights, confined spaces)
  • Must be willing to work overtime and accept call-in requests when required
  • Assesses safety conditions and implements preventive or corrective measures to ensure safe work-related activities

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Associate degree in an Industrial Maintenance Program, Mechatronics, or an equivalent Maintenance Mechanical Training Program preferred
  • Experience level: minimum 3+ years’ maintenance experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong mechanical maintenance knowledge
  • Organization and ability to develop work scopes and planning skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot to solve problems
  • Basic MS Office and SAP knowledge is a plus
  • Problem Solving
  • Read and understand a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) to identify hazards of handling chemicals
  • Safely work around solvents, acids, and bases or other hazardous or potentially hazardous chemicals
  • Understand and adhere to company emergency procedures
  • Report all spills, leaks, injuries, mischarges, and other incidents immediately to the Supervisor and/or management
  • Report all unsafe conditions immediately to the Supervisor and/or management
