Duties:
· Participate on all phases of cell rebuilds/repairs. Work adjusted schedule as necessary to minimize downtime
· Provide preventive/predictive maintenance support for all plant equipment.
· Replace scrubber filter pads and flexi rings when necessary
· Respond to emergency work orders to service, troubleshoot and repair all facility equipment.
· Responsible for maintaining a high standard of workmanship & housekeeping.
· Participate in continuous improvement teams, assume responsibilities for various team roles as needed
· Using relevant information & individual judgement to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards
· Clean lead sulfate from cells during a cell rebuild project and manage as hazardous waste
· Change all filter cartridges and properly dispose of cartridges (hazardous waste and non-hazardous)
· Properly store and label universal waste
· Wash contaminated process equipment
· Adjust breaks/lunches etc. as necessary to complete jobs and return equipment to operating status
· Maintain & follow all proper safety practices & procedures
· Follow all hazardous waste handling procedures as set forth in procedures manual
· Other duties as required
Requisite Skills, Experience and Education:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· 2 years industrial maintenance experience, or, in an industrial maintenance related technical field
· Valid Driver’s License
· Previous maintenance or mechanical experience in piping repair, mechanical drive systems, welding, fabrication, large equipment maintenance, chemical operation maintenance, and machining and precision close tolerance work required
· Candidate must possess excellent communication and teamwork skills
· Must be a self-starter & work efficiently with minimal supervision
· Candidate must have a positive attitude, and be flexible to handle new situations & assignments
· Candidate must demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, and demonstrate a desire to support Maintenance Department goals outside of normal activities
