Β Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Materials Manager role in Fort Mill. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead inventory strategies that maintain 98%+ service levels while minimizing costs.
  • Manage complex supply chain variables including long lead times (2 weeks production + 4–5 weeks transit/customs) and safety stock requirements.

  • Use advanced techniques such as ABC analysis, AI-driven forecasting, and demand variability modeling to manage thousands of SKUs.

  • Ensure FIFO compliance, reduce obsolescence, and implement tools like Kanban, Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI), and End-of-Life (EOL) planning.

  • Oversee end-to-end material management across all sites and locations.

Demand Planning & Collaboration:

  • Translate sales forecasts into actionable inventory strategies, prioritizing product fulfillment based on margin and strategic account value.

  • Lead SIOP/IBP processes and facilitate cross-functional meetings to align production, procurement, and warehouse activities.

  • Communicate proactively about risks such as material shortages or customs delays.

  • Track and report key inventory KPIs including turns, forecast accuracy, and lead time reduction.

Global Supplier & Risk Management:

  • Support supplier contract negotiations with a focus on reducing lead times and promoting sustainability (e.g., ethical sourcing, carbon-neutral shipping).

  • Build and manage a resilient supplier network, including alternate sourcing and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Partner with compliance teams to optimize customs processes and manage duty/tariff exposure.

Materials Flow Optimization:

  • Deploy Lean tools and PFEP methodology to minimize handling waste and improve material flow.

  • Lead warehouse automation projects, including RFID and smart storage systems.

  • Optimize storage layouts and support Just-in-Time (JIT) deliveries to improve operational efficiency.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead annual audits and weekly cycle counts to maintain >98% inventory accuracy.

  • Conduct root-cause analysis on discrepancies and ensure timely corrective actions.

  • Promote sustainability by reducing material waste, improving packaging, and tracking carbon emissions.

IBP/SIOP Leadership:

  • Align materials planning with long-term business strategies through integrated planning (18–60 month horizon).

  • Mentor planning team members and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field (required).

  • MBA or Master’s in Supply Chain, with coursework in sustainability or renewable energy (preferred).

  • 7–10 years of experience in inventory/materials management, with at least 5 years in automotive, semiconductor, or electronics manufacturing.

  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) strongly preferred.

  • Proven success in ERP/SIOP implementation, component lifecycle management, and supplier risk mitigation.

  • Experience managing BOMs, traceability, and counterfeit prevention in electronics/automotive environments.

  • Annual salary: $103,000 – $135,000
