Nurse Assistant (CNA Preferred), FT Days, 7am-3pm & EOW

Bishop Gadsden, located on James Island, SC is searching for new team members! Located on James Island, we are a not-for-profit, faith-based retirement community, affiliated with the Episcopal Church. Bishop Gadsden is known as the Southeast's leading life care retirement community. We are located just 10 minutes from downtown Charleston!

This full time role is as Nurse Assistant OR Certified Nurse Assistant requires someone with excellent customer service skills and a passion for working with seniors! The ideal candidate will have prior experience working as a CNA within an Assisted Living environment.

A Typical Day:

• Provide personal care for residents, including any and all activities of daily living (ADL) as needed.
• Assist residents with dining needs including assistance to the dining room and assistance with in room dining service.
• Encourage resident independence and optimal level of functioning.
• Exercise standard precautions of infection control in all resident care.
• Utilize plan of care in delivery of resident care.
• Receive and give reports on resident’s condition at beginning and end of each shift via walking rounds.
• Exchange resident information with Clinical Supervisor and Myers Hall Manager on an ongoing basis.
• Document accurately and on a timely basis all information regarding resident’s care in the EHR daily charting.
• Carry and respond to pagers in an appropriate amount of time.
• Participate in “lunch duty” as assigned.

What We Need In a Candidate:

• Must be at least 18 years of age and in good physical health.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience in all aspects of long term care for the elderly preferred.
• Current CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain CPR/AED certification upon employment.
• Current SC Nurse Aide Registry C.N.A. Certification, in good standing, preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written.
• Ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach, and lift (up to 50 pounds).
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to read and comprehend numbers and written material.
• Ability to represent the Bishop Gadsden community professionally both in manner and appearance.
