Job Summary:
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales and revenue growth by developing new business opportunities and managing existing customer relationships within an assigned territory. This self-motivated, results-oriented professional should have strong B2B sales experience, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of appliance and HVAC parts, equipment, or industrial components. The ideal candidate excels at building long-term client partnerships and consistently identifies opportunities to expand market presence and increase sales performance.Β
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities within assigned territory
β’ Delivery runs to customers for the branch as needed
β’ Visit customers at their locations to present products, provide quotes, and offer tailored solutions
β’ Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at repair shops, contractors, distributors, or industrial clients, Liaison between D&L customers for up-to-date pricing, products, and services
β’ Maintain a deep understanding of the companyβs product lines and promote the right solutions for each customer
β’ Collaborating with the Marketing department for current D&L promotions, flyers, catalogs, pricing and other marketing materials to market to customer bases
β’ Collaborate with branch teams to ensure excellent service and timely delivery
β’ Prepare and deliver sales presentations, sales forecasts, product demonstrations, and training programs
β’ Track sales activities, opportunities, and customer communications; Maintain an accurate record of leads, customer accounts, and sales. Reporting daily / weekly back to your manager as requested
β’ Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets and quotas
β’ Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs
β’ Represent the company at trade shows, networking events, and industry functions
β’ Participate in sales calls and meetings as necessary
Qualifications & Skills:
β’ 2β5+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in wholesale distribution of parts or equipment
β’ Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals in a b2b environment
β’ Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
β’ Expected to uphold a professional image through appropriate hygiene, attire, and behavior; Maintain professionalism, diplomacy, and sensitivity to confidential company trade information
β’ Technical knowledge or experience with HVAC, electrical, or appliance parts is essential
β’ Self-starter with strong time management and organizational skills
β’ Work with limited supervision following standard company practices and maintain positive relationships with peers and supervisors
β’ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems
β’ Ability to operate office/branch equipment including computers, printers, fax machines, phone systems
β’ Perform basic math for coordinating cash and credit transactions, and pricing of products and equipment
β’ Valid driverβs license, reliable vehicle, and clean driving record
β’ Ability to travel daily within the assigned region
β’ Operate within the standard procedures and policies in accordance with D&L and the D&L HandbookΒ
β’ Participate in annual inventory
β’ Ability to lift to 75 lbs. with assistance of lifts, jacks, or other necessary equipment when needed
β’ Established network of industry contacts in the territory
β’ Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
