Pool: School Psychologist (Part-Time)

TITLE:                                  School Psychologist

QUALIFICATIONS:             Master’s and/or Educational Specialist’s degree in school psychology

                                          Valid S. C. certification as a School Psychologist II or III

                                           Experience as a School Psychologist in a public school setting preferred

                                           Previous teaching experience preferred

REPORTS TO:                     Director of Special Education and Principal

JOB GOAL:                          The school psychologist will handle all new referrals and reevaluation reviews, will be the chair

                                           of the intervention team, and will participate in the development and implementations of 

                                           behavioral intervention plans at assigned schools

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Serve as liaison between school personnel and special education regarding assessment and shared professional responsibilities.

2. Maintain knowledge of all regulations (local, state, and federal) regarding psychological services.

3. Monitor the referral, evaluation and placement process to ensure that all requirements of due process are met.

4. Serve as coordinator of intervention teams in assigned schools.

5. Assist in the development of preventive measures for students with potential problems.

6. Assists in professional development and provide relevant training in the area of psychological services.

7. Prepare periodic reports as required.

8. Conducts appropriate reports as required.

9. Maintains confidentiality concerning student records and data.

10. Participate in staff development programs.

11. Stay informed of current developments in the field of school psychology (consultation, research, and assessment).

12. Perform other duties as directed.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:    190 days (Part-Time).  Teacher salary schedule.

EVALUATION:   Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy.
