SCSM seeks a detail-oriented individualΒ to protect the property of the museum and the rights of individuals against loss or injury due to disorderly acts, accidents, fires or other hazards. The Public Safety Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and secure environment for visitors, staff, and the collections.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
β’Β A high school diploma and experience in fire prevention, safety or security activities.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
β’ Must have strong communication and de-escalation skills and be able to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
β’ Must be a team player, have good interpersonal skills, and able to deal effectively with visitors and staff members, both in day-to-day and emergency environments.
β’ Must be able to access all parts of the facility.
β’ Requires the ability to prepare and review various types of administrative paperwork, and be proficient with a computer.
β’ Requires telephone and face-to-face communications and extensive use of a radio and telephone.
β’ Requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
