RN MS/Tele (Ortho) - 13-Week Contract Position

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry, specifically in Orthopedic care. This role will involve providing care for adult patients post-operative from spinal surgeries including laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective pain management and support physical therapy interventions on a telemetry-capable unit.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive and efficient nursing care to patients in the orthopedic spine unit.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, vital signs, and telemetry data.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy and pain management specialists.
• Educate and support patients and families regarding care plans and recovery processes.
• Assist with special procedures such as bedside lumbar punctures and post-surgical care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a Medical/Surgical and Telemetry setting.
• Active RN license in South Carolina or a multistate license.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• 1 year of experience with EPIC charting system is required.
• Must possess experience in orthopedic care.
