Job Duties:

  • The Director of the Office of Safety Management administers the following Child Welfare Services Programs: Child Protective Services (Intake, Investigations); Family Preservation, Out of Home and Abuse Neglect, SC Central Registry of Abuse and Neglect; Assessment and Planning Team and Trafficking Support Team.

  • Oversees and administers the state intake hub reporting program, Family Preservation Program, the Out-of-Home Abuse and Neglect program, Central Registry Unit, Human Trafficking Support Team and Assessment and Planning Program.Β 

  • Ensures program related policies are developed, reviewed, and updated on a regular basis.Β 

  • Provides supervision of staff ensuring they are equipped to effectively perform job responsibilities.Β 

  • Using relevant data and reports, implements continuous quality improvement processes toward the achievement of safety, permanency, and well-being for children and families.Β 

  • Drafts and compiles strategic and accountability reports related to programs and services administered by the Child Welfare Services Division.Β 

  • Provides Child Welfare Services knowledge and expertise to external stakeholders to include but not limited to, serving as the State Security Officer Liaison and member of the Children's Justice Act Task Force.Β 

  • Maintains expert knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and best practice standards related to Child Welfare Services.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A Master's Degree and three (3) years of experience in any combination of social work, management, business administration, administrative services or public administration; or a Bachelor's Degree and five (5) years of experience in any combination of social work, management, business administration, administrative services or public administration.
