Job Overview



Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, the purpose of the Senior Mechanical Engineer is to promote Corporate Excellence and Customer Satisfaction throughout our Engineering workflow, Manufacturing adoption and execution, and underlying technology utilization.


The Senior Mechanical Engineer champions corporate CAD/CAM optimization and design for manufacturing best practices along with overseeing and administering the underlying technologies. Additionally, the Senior Mechanical Engineer applies extensive industry experience and superior technical skills to serve as an internal consultant of product design, technical service support, and manufacturing excellence. The Senior Mechanical Engineer also fills the key role of guiding the corporation in consistent, efficient, and effective plant operations implementation and adoption of new products and enhanced features as released from Product Development.





Job Description



Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities




Research, oversee, and manage Engineering technologies and processes to achieve 100% bill of material accuracy and machine specifications.


Serve as the Corporate Creo/Windchill support Engineer and administrator to ensure effective utilization of all underlying technologies.


Collaborate with all CMC Systems representing the CAD/CAM functions to ensure harmony and effectiveness of the various systems in use corporate wide.


Serve as an internal design consultant for product and process improvements to promote Corporate Excellence and Customer Satisfaction.


Play key roles on process improvement teams to help ensure appropriate integration of Engineering, Product Development, and CAD/CAM functionality.


Oversee the Plant Operations adoption and implementation of new product and feature enhancements at the point of release from Product Development (as the Operations representative). Includes audit and facilitation of design for manufacturing, b.o.m. construction, and conformance to best practices throughout all CAD/CAM steps, and reports of progress and completion.


Audits and reports the progress and completion of all manufacturing related ECO's including implementation and operations adoption and execution.




Qualifications and Education Requirements


Must be a self-starter who can meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks and priorities


Must be able to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems


10-15 years' experience in design and production Engineering


Related degree preferred (or equivalent experience)


Experience with ERP and CAD/CAM software


Knowledgeable of modern manufacturing techniques


Proficient with personal computer functions and Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel)


Must be able to communicate fluently with personnel on a profession and vocational level




Physical Requirements


This position does require frequent visits to the manufacturing and assembly areas. There are no specific physical requirements, but lifting up to 40 pounds might be required on a very infrequent basis as part of assisting other CMC personnel. The majority of the incumbent's time is in an office environment, with most of this time sitting at a computer (CAD) station. Repetitive hand and arm motion, eye strain and eye fatigue common to prolonged computer workstation use would be expected.
