The purpose of this leadership position is to develop and implement an activity program in compliance with requirements to meet residents’ needs and Bishop Gadsden standards. Supervises a team of 2 to include an Activity Coordinator and Activities Assistant.


A Typical Day:

  • Lead a team of activity professionals to create a culture of collaboration, positivity and are results-driven.
  • Maintain, schedule, develop, and coordinate 3rd party vendor programming relationships
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, initiate and implement a program of individual, small and large group activities based on residents’ needs and schedule.
  • Create census-driven dual programming to provide multiple levels of resident participation within the 7 dimensions of wellness.
  • Recruit, schedule, direct, and supervise volunteers/interns.
  • Create, process and reconcile AP forms for all department Activities.
  • Complete payroll on a bi-weekly basis.Β 
  • Assist with annual budget process and adhere to approved budget program.
  • Reconcile monthly credit card statements.
  • Observe safety practices with residents at all times.
  • Present QAPI presentations twice a year.
  • Participate in daily stand-up meeting in Estes, weekly RISK meeting, and weekly CLS meetings.

Requirements

What We Need From A Candidate:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in planning and implementing of elderly activities.
  • High School diploma with advance studies in geriatrics or related field preferred or equivalent education and experience sufficient to complete primary job functions
  • Valid SC Driver’s License.
  • Activity Director Certification, preferred.Β 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written.
  • Ability to read and comprehend numbers and written material.
  • Ability to direct daily activities with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to work with computer programs as needed.
  • Interpersonal skills are necessary for exchanging information as well as maintaining a courteous relationship with the residents, families, visitors and Bishop Gadsden employees.
