  • Weekend and Holiday rotation required by department

Overview

Job Summary

Performs a variety of Sterile Processing functions, which include the decontamination, preparation, sterilization and distribution of sterile surgical instrumentation to the OR and other areas throughout the hospital. Required to maintain and control both sterile and non-sterile supplies and identify and remedy equipment and process failures and hazards while maintaining the appropriate and complete records.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assembles and processes instruments sets, trays, supplies and linen; prioritizes trays and tasks according to the surgery schedule.

  • Utilizes and troubleshoots steam sterilizers.

  • Follows proper techniques and procedures to ensure the integrity of the sterilization process.

  • Disassembles, decontaminates, and processes instrumentation according to manufacturer and industry standards.

  • Ensures instrumentation is reassembled correctly and functioning properly.

  • Boone Health has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.

  • Preforms Other Responsibilities as Assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • No Experience

  • No Supervisor Experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bd For Sterile Processing/Distribution

  • CRCST

  • IAHCSMM
