What You Will Do:

As a Trial Counsel - Nursing Home & Medical Neglect, you will take full ownership of your caseloadβ€”from discovery through verdictβ€”and collaborate closely with paralegals, experts, and partners to drive exceptional outcomes. Very little β€œback-end” or pre-litigation-only work: this role is built for courtroom warriors ready to lead trials. Β 


You will also:

  1. Serve as primary counsel for nursing home negligence, elder-abuse, and medical neglect cases by providing exceptional legal support and guiding our clients through the case process while maintaining positive and communicative relationships with them
  2. Draft and file litigation documents to include pleadings, discovery requests and responses, demands, motions and memoranda of law
  3. Develop case theory, coordinate experts (medical, economic, life-care planners), and craft persuasive trial presentations
  4. Lead depositions, jury selection, opening/closing statements, and direct/cross examinations
  5. Manage in-court logistics and team roles (paralegals, co-counsel, investigators)
  6. Provide compassionate guidance through complex medical and legal processes

Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the South Carolina Bar (in good standing)
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on trial experience in nursing home neglect, elder abuse, or related personal injury practice
  • Proven record of at-trial verdicts or high-value settlements (six- or seven-figure matters preferred)
  • Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills, with demonstrated excellence in motion practice and trial presentation
  • Ability to manage a full, trial-ready docket independently
  • A solid work ethic
