As a Vehicle Inspector, Β you will play a key role in producing accurate condition reports and supporting post-sale inspections. This position requires a strong customer-service mindset, attention to detail, and strict adherence to auction confidentiality and compliance standards. The CR Writer/Inspector will assist with condition reports, post-sale inspections (PSI), arbitration, and vehicle registration as needed.Β 


Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming vehicles to identify damage, missing parts, or mechanical issues
  • Assess vehicle condition, including frame, paint, engine, HVAC operation, tires, radio, navigation systems, and overall functionality
  • Prepare and submit detailed documentation, including vehicle identification information, condition descriptions, photographs, and repair or replacement cost estimates
  • Maintain current knowledge of labor rates, parts pricing, and manufacturer updates
  • Follow established inspection processes, documentation standards, and work instructions
  • Conduct courtesy walk-around inspections upon request
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Locate, start, and move vehicles as directed
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic technical and computer software proficiency required
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record required
  • Previous vehicle body shop or mechanical experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear
  • Frequently required to kneel, crouch, and climb
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception Β
