Inside the Role

Lead culture and strategy managing the Vocational Sales Team for DTNA’s product offerings for the United States, Canada and approved export countries. Develop and execute the vocational growth strategy for DTNA. Cross functionally collaborate and with Marketing, Product Strategy, Strategic Pricing, Transaction Pricing, Engineering, Aftermarket, Daimler Truck Financial and Network Development the requirements for DTNA to pursue leadership in the vocational market. Establish and manage the relationships between Truck Equipment Manufacturers (TEMs) and DTNA. Develop and establish relationships with targeted national accounts in the vocational space. Provide executive leadership and direction to ensure that DTNA captures market leadership positions within this segment of the North American markets Direct and manage point of sales activities within the DTNA dealer network as related to vocational vehicle sales while actively focusing on services growth to include but not limited to ASP, Daimler Truck Financial Services, Connected Vehicle Services etc…. Direct and Manage Gov't Vehicles Sales. Establish and manage guidelines and responsibilities for transactions involving Federal Government sales

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Direct the Vocational National Accounts Sales Team for US and Canada Direct the activities of vocational sales for the US and Canada based upon goals and sales plans Coordinate changing market conditions and customer requests with DTNA production capabilities and limitations Direct the Gov't Vehicles Sales team
  • Develop and Manage the Truck Equipment Manufacturers (TEM) Sales Strategy Manage the Account Executive’s daily activities and provide strategic directions for the development and implementation of the sales plans. Coordinate and guide strategic product development to improve market acceptability of products and services as it relates to TEMs. Develop marketing plans for growth within each of the strategic relationships with TEMs and provide direction for related market development of completed vehicles.
  • Coordinate scheduling priorities. Develop strategic pricing models to support TEM growth within segments. Provide DTNA strategic overview to TEM senior management on industry, new product and services development, technology deployment and global strength as required
  • Vocational National Accounts (VNA) Sales Management Provide strategic direction to the development of the relationships with key national accounts as related to vocational sales. Provide strategic direction for the development and implementation of the sales plans. Coordinate and guide strategic product development to improve market acceptability of products as it relates to Vocational national Accounts (VNA). Develop the marketing plans for growth within each of the strategic relationships with VNAs and provide direction for related market development of completed vehicles. Coordinate scheduling priorities. Develop strategic pricing models to support VNA growth within their specific segments. Provide DTNA strategic overview to VNA senior management on industry, new product development, technology deployment and global strength as required
  • Gov't Vehicles Sales Team - Strategic direction and management Provide overarching strategic direction to the newly formed Government Vehicles Sales team. Transition Gov't Vehicle Sales from a direct relationship to a dealer based relationship. Maintain and grow Freightliner Trucks participation in this segment of the market. Establish new opportunities to exploit our core strengths. Β 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • BS/BA in Business, Marketing, Finance, or Engineering Required
  • 10 years of direct customer relationship sales experience, 5 years of senior level strategy experience and/or 5 years of cross-functional department coordination and/or 5 years of network strategy relationships and/or 5 years of product marketing.Β 
  • Project management experience across DTG organizations.Β 
  • Proficiency in multicultural engagements
  • Intimate knowledge of secondary distribution strategy related experience
  • Pricing relationships between direct customers and secondary distribution network customers
  • Understanding of Aftermarket Support networks and initiatives
  • Basic engineering and manufacturing processes
  • Thorough understanding of Daimler Global products, strategy and initiative
  • This position is open to candidates from Fort Mill, Portland, or Detroit
  • Please note this role is open for local contract only and not eligible for Expat assignment.

Typical Minimum Experience Preferred (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or Engineering preferred
